Hawaii is a little slice of Heaven on earth. With its white sandy beaches, beautifully clear blue water, luscious flowers, and aloha spirit, it is easy to see why so many revere it as an ultimate paradise. While planning a vacation to Hawaii, there are so many activities to consider doing. Whether it is TripAdvisor, Yelp!, or just recommendations from others that have previously visited, there is no fear of being bored when you are here. However, the dilemma rests with deciding which activities to choose to make the most of your vacation. From a Hawaiian native, I have to say catching a sunrise at Lanikai Beach is a must on your to-do list!

To-Do…Ta-Da

This sweet family from San Diego knew that the sunrises at Lanikai Beach are not something to miss. So much so that they booked a Hawaii family photography session during sunrise to make their trip even more special. Hawaii happens to be Mom’s place of birth, so they take annual trips back to the islands to visit family and share the magic of Hawaii with their daughter. Because they come back so often, I’ve had the honor of photographing this little girl since she was just six months old. It’s been a joy to document the many seasons of her young life through beautiful family portraits.

Sunrise sessions have some of the most beautiful lighting. The soft oranges and pale pinks create the most stunning backgrounds. Catching the sun coming up over the ocean makes the water just sparkle. The golden hue perfectly captures the rich promises a new day holds. If the fates do not align, and you are unable to make it to Lanikai Beach for a sunrise photography session, fear not.
