Oahu Photographer | Once Upon a Dream

This family photo shoot in Oahu, Hawaii looked like a huge watercolor mural. If only we could always get lucky with sunsets like this. The pink, purple, and blue hues covered the fluffy clouds and reflected so beautifully off of the blue waves. Summed up in one word: dreamy! This was a perfect fairytale setting for a family with two young girls.

This sweet family flew from Oregon to vacation in Hawaii with their adorable daughters. Scheduling yearly family photos on vacation is becoming more popular. Not only do you already have time set aside from your normal routine, but the family is usually having fun and feeling relaxed, making for some truly authentic and happy photos. Plus, what better backdrop for your photos than Hawaii!? They will have so many memories attached to these photos.

This family planned ahead of time for their vacation session, so Mom packed some beautiful outfits that accentuated the colors of the sunset. The girls each wore complementing ombre-layered dresses with shades of pink and peach and the other in blue and purple. I can’t believe how perfectly it matched the sky! Even Mom’s baby wrap for holding her youngest close had complementing layers of colors!

I took them to a section of the beach that tends to be less crowded due to the lava rocks spread out along the shore. Although they’re not ideal for a sandy-toed walk, they are perfect for photos, adding rich tones and texture to the images.

And let me tell you, these little girls could not be more photogenic. They were too cute as they posed like beautiful angels, then romped around in the sand, and even showed off some of their silly faces – they were all great! I think their parents will really love this diverse collection that shows off their personalities and family bonds so well!

Then, for the grand finale of this lovely evening, we left off on a romantic photo of Mom and Dad – because they deserve it!
