Oahu Family Portraits | Through the Years

I have had the pleasure of capturing Oahu family portraits for this beautiful, fun family since 2015. In a sense, I’ve had the opportunity to watch their not-so-little-anymore girl “grow up,” and it never ceases to amaze me how much she changes from year to year. I have absolutely loved getting to know them, and I look forward to their sessions each year. Over the course of these four years, two things have remained consistent: this family’s love for Hawaii (it’s their happy place) and their daughter’s exuberant personality and love for the ocean. I’d say we are a good match because those are the things that make me happy, too.

From Mom: “This summer, we went to the beach to watch the sunset. She just couldn’t deny her attraction to the water. It started with toes in the water, then pants rolled up, then wet to the waist. She loved every minute of it – squealing with delight with every wave.”

And spoken like a true mom, “My favorite images of M aren’t picture-perfect smiles but instead her more serious or kind of messy pictures. And for me, my favorite thing about being photographed with M is capturing how I look at her.”

So, to capture the true essence of their relationship and close bond between M and her parents, I just let the three of them do their thing as I subtly shot from the side. The love between each other, for the ocean and the joy of being in their happy place is quite apparent.

I loved this sand and sun shoot with this special family! A huge mahalo to this sweet ‘Ohana for allowing me the opportunity to capture their Oahu Family Portraits yet again.  It’s always a pleasure.
