This was my second time documenting this beautiful family, and I was thrilled to see them again. The first time I captured their story, they were leaving Oahu for the Midwest. Now, they had returned to escape the winter chill and soak in a bit of Hawaiian sunshine. Oahu holds a special place in their hearts—both of their daughters were born here, and the island is home to many of their favorite memories.

For this Family Photography Oahu session, they requested a sunrise shoot at their favorite beach. We woke up early and hit the sand just as the day began. I thought the girls might need a little time to shake off the sleep, but they were absolutely beaming with excitement. It was so special to see them again—they’ve grown so much! These sisters share a bond that’s deeper than sisterhood—they’re truly best friends.

I captured them playing, laughing, and holding hands as they walked toward the ocean. They wore beautiful pink flower leis that perfectly matched their bright and joyful spirits. They even discovered nearby blooms and greenery to play with during the session. As if the morning wasn’t magical enough, a rainbow appeared to wrap it all up—a perfect ending to a heartwarming shoot.
