Lanikai Beach is located on the windward side of Oahu—the name appropriately means “heavenly sea.” Many of the pictures of Hawaiian beaches you see on postcards or the internet come from Lanikai. After looking at these sublime family photos, you can see why! The green, hilly islands in the background paired with the crystal blue water and white sand make the beach a perfect place to soak in some sun and daydream (or play, for all the adventurous toddlers like this little guy).
From Australia with Love
This laid-back family from Australia fit right in with the Hawaiian vibe. They were playful, genuine and a ton of fun to shoot! I love doing candid family sessions on the beach as oppobecause you can really see the personalities of all the family members. Of course the little man had a blast exploring the beach—playing in the waves with Mom and Dad, checking out the kayaks, and digging in the sand. With so much going on all around and so much to investigate, he didn’t even seem to notice the photo shoot taking place (even though he was the main feature)! For the second half of the shoot, everyone dressed in matching Hawaiian attire, but with a twist: Mom wore a cute sundress, their handsome son sported a romper (perfect for playing), and Dad went with a traditional beach shirt.
