This session was so special to me. This mama wanted to document this precious time as she is embarking on her new chapter of life as a single parent. As a single parent myself, I understand how empowering and, at the same time, challenging it can be. I couldn’t wait to get started on this session and to be able to capture all the beauty of this embarkation for this newly single mother.
This mama and her baby boy were an absolute joy to photograph. They both brought so much energy to the session. Baby Boy loved walking along the shoreline in his cute overalls. I can still hear his giggles from when he dared ever closer to the water and the waves crashed in over his feet splattering his pant legs with ocean spray. Mom is an adventurous one as well, as she went inch for inch with her son into the waves.
Soon it was time to ditch the cover ups and overalls and don their swimsuits. They dove fully into the waves now splashing around with one another. This young mama has so much energy. She kept right up with her little boy as they played in the water. I loved getting to capture so many moments of Mom scooping up her son into her arms and just holding him. She truly knows how to soak up every moment with her little one because he won’t be little for long.
Some of my favorite photos are of Mom and Baby Boy under the rainbow. What a perfect way to symbolize the washing away of stormy times and the beauty of the brand new?! I’m so glad we were able to capture such wonderful pictures.
