“The beaches they sell to build their hotels; My father’s and I once knew: Birds all along the sunlight at dawn singing Waimanalo blues…”
Meet this sweet family, who contacted me to be their Oahu photographer. They were on a family vacation from California, and wanted to capture wonderful memories together during this beautiful season. Dad is in the military, and has a deployment that is approaching rapidly, so it was so important for them to have a session altogether as a family. What a precious idea, and I am so honored that they chose me to document these moments.
Their Waimanalo Beach Sunrise Session
This session took place on Waimanalo beach, which is famous for its beautiful sunrises, which transition into brilliant blue waters and skies. It is also known for the classic local song, “Waimanalo Blues,” a beautiful song that talks about the beauty of the town, and wonderful memories made there. Few can visit the beaches of Oahu and not be moved by the brilliant blues of the ocean and sky. Capturing that beauty as an Oahu Photographer is such an honor.
The session was casual and relaxed, as the family wanted to focus on capturing their love for one another and the enjoyment for each other’s company. The two boys had the best disposition. They were full of energy and smiles, and seemed to love Waimanalo as much as their parents. I had a lot of fun seeing the four of them run and play with one another in the water. It is so precious to see the bond that mom and dad have with their children.
We were able to capture a beautiful sunrise while we were on the beach, and even found a cute swing that the family was able to play on. Altogether, we had a wonderful time. I wish this family many blessings as they continue their journey with one another. I am certain that they will stay resilient throughout the deployment process. May their 2018 be filled with more laughter and fond memories together.
