About this session
Keeping up with my returning clients and watching their families grow and change brings me so much joy. One of the greatest gifts of being a photographer who documents relationship is having the opportunity to journey with couples through these chapters. Relationships are what truly make life so beautiful, and I feel so grateful to be able to capture them. I always strive to produce meaningful portraits that will serve as long-lasting memoirs through the years. Couples can see where they first began—their first kiss on Wedding Day, the birth of their first child, and more! These are moments we want to preserve forever.
I feel fortunate to have documented this dear couple through several seasons of life now: engagement photos, wedding, and now maternity photos as they are expecting their first child! They are both so kind, and I always love working with them as we catch up on all the life that has happened since we last saw each other—in this case, a brand-new life happened! How exciting!
We headed out to the beach on a glorious day for this session. The sun was shining brightly with a few clouds to hide some of the strongest rays. It had just rained, and at one angle, we actually had a dark storm cloud with a brilliant rainbow arching across it! Stunning! We went right before sunset, so we caught some color and warmer glow toward the end of the session—what a great mix of lighting and backdrops. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
The mama-to-be looked so radiant in her sheer white gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and sweetheart neckline. I love how it accentuated her bump so naturally. She seemed so confident and calm as she approaches these last few weeks, and the love between these two is still as strong as ever. I have no doubt they will be the most wonderful parents, and this little one is already so very loved!
Congratulations, you two! I am SO excited about this next adventure you will embark on through parenthood. Hope to see your family of THREE soon!
Lanikai Beach Sunrise | A Hawaiian Vacation Must |[…] Sunrise sessions have some of the most beautiful lighting. The soft oranges and pale pinks create the most stunning backgrounds. Catching the sun coming up over the ocean makes the water just sparkle. The golden hue perfectly captures the rich promises a new day holds.
