Japan Hawaii Photographer | Fun Family Session

Each family I photograph brings with them their very own unique vibe and personality. Even if I used the same backdrop every time, all of the photos would look completely different. No matter if the sessions take place on the beach, at home, in the city, or in the Hawaiian forest, the families are what bring the photos to life.

It usually just takes a few minutes of warming up to get to know their personality as a family unit. When families are together, their personality is so quick to come alive, each member adds his or her very own special light to the mix. Capturing candid images of families is so much easier than of a single person – when one person cracks a smile, mentions a joke, or erupts in laughter, the rest of the family can’t help but follow suit.

It’s so much fun for me as a photographer. What a joy and honor it is to be able to capture all of these precious moments for them! Oftentimes, since Hawaii is a vacation destination, I have never met the families I photograph before. But by the end of the session, I feel like we’re family. We’ve shared an incredible experience together.

This joyful family came from Japan to vacation in Hawaii with their two handsome boys. Amazingly, this is the second time I’ve had the pleasure of working with them! I was so excited when I saw their message asking about another photoshoot during their visit. The first time around, they had their oldest son with them, and now they’ve added a precious new addition! Of course they wanted to document this sweet time as their family grows, and what better time than on vacation!

This family described in one word: playful! I could spend all day with this family thinking only minutes went by! They are so laid back, and we went for a stroll to the beach outside their hotel on Waikiki for these spirited sunset photos that portray their happy family perfectly.
