Hawaii Maternity Photos | Stunning Sunset Session

“Ohana means family.” And this little family is growing. This Oahu couple is expecting their first child, well besides their dog! They couldn’t be more excited to meet their little one on the way.

The couple wanted the photo session location to be on the beach during sunset. I couldn’t have been more excited. This location was absolutely stunning. The beach boasted such rich hues of natural landscape. The luscious rich green of the foliage on the mountains, the brilliant blue of the water, beautiful white sand, texture of the whitecaps…and that’s not even mentioning the colors of the sunset. The sunset hosts such various shades of yellow, orange, and pink. It was a quintessential Hawaiin backdrop.

Mother-to-be chose dresses in soft pinks that picked up some of the beautiful pink hues in the sunset. Her first dress from Pink Blush Maternity had such a beautiful lace overlay. It was such a delicate touch. She also wore a gorgeous haku lei, or flower crown, made out of local flowers. It was absolutely stunning and created by the talented The Happy Haku. Father-to-be wore a Hawaiian shirt that incorporated all the colors of the landscape and complimented her wardrobe nicely. Even their pup got dressed up for the occasion and donned his bowtie!

I absolutely loved working with this couple. The picture perfectly captured their overflowing love for each other and their excitement about their little one. They are both such easy, fun-loving people. They were great sports getting in the water and letting the waves crash over them. They had so much fun walking up and down the beach stopping along the way to pose and snap a few pictures. But some of the best ones were just catching them in the little mundane moments of walking hand-in-hand. Ho‘omaika’i ‘ana!
